The Final Count Down

For the next three months it seemed like those two week visits were coming in like clock work. The frustration had began to set in because I knew that my baby was healthy and okay, but felt like I needed to prove that to my doctor and I wasn't sure why.
My doctor continued to have her reservations and one day while meeting with her, she informed me that she thinks it's in the best interest of the baby to have a C-section by 38 weeks instead of waiting for the 40 weeks. I wasn't in agreement but felt like my hands were tied.
I was constantly being referred to other clinicians to ensure that the baby was okay, since they considered me High-risk, at one point I was sent to see a fetal cardiologist to have an echo cardiogram done on the baby.
After finishing up the ultrasound, I was called into a room to meet with the doctor and a sono nurse along with a social worker. I felt like I was being picked on and out numbered. They discuss the possibility of the baby being born with heart defects and the best possible thing to do was a procedure called amniocentesis for them to get a better understanding of why the baby was measuring small so that I could be prepared for how I'd care for her when she arrives into the world.
